When it comes to business there are many ways in which you can operate. For example you can choose to go all out and do a lot of branding, get business cards and a website or you can choose to operate mostly based on word of mouth and direct contact via phone/email for those interested in your product/service. In this article, we would like to discuss websites and why getting a website for your small/still developing business may not be a bad idea.
Cost is probably one of the first things which comes to mind when you have a business especially as you are just starting. What is the cost? And with that also comes the question: what is the benefit? A website can be costly but it does not have to be. There are several offerings of ways to have a website up and running for your business with little to no cost to you. You might already be aware of this so we won’t spend too long discussing these offerings. Or you can check out these website builder providers to learn more: Wix, WordPress, Squarespace, Weebly, Ghost, and others.
But what is the benefit of having a website for your small business? The first benefit which we would like to point out is that it increases the perception that your business is professional and keeping up with the times. Consumers are used to going online to look up information about a product/service and when your business has a website, this is comforting to them because it is what they are used to. It shows that you are ready to do business. The second benefit is that it makes it easier for them to digest information about your product/service and consider what is best for their need and price point. Think about it..is it easier for you to remember that A,B, C, D, or E service provided by Y business costs $1, $2, $5, $10, or $25 if you are given those prices and information about each service over the phone or is it better for you to go online, look at all that information, digest it and make your decision? I think most people would go with the latter option.
Having a website with information about your business saves valuable time for the business and the consumer.
Having a website with information about your business saves valuable time for the business and the consumer. Depending on how robust your website is, it also takes the guesswork out of the deal for both the business and consumer. So you may think that your business is too small to have a website but that is not necessarily the case. A website can be affordable and no matter how small the business, it can make it easier for you to do business.
